Get Active: The Five Hour Offer
Taking part in PE and sport has been proven to have significant benefits for young people. A growing evidence base demonstrates the impact that high quality PE and sport has in improving educational standards. It helps young people become more active and healthy, and can play a central role in developing young people’s confidence and self esteem, helping develop team working and wide social and personal skills.
Every young person aged five to sixteen should have access to five hours of PE and sport.
Brayton Junior School is committed to delivering two hours of high quality PE to every pupil by:
• making sure all pupils are included
• allocating equipment and space fairly and effectively
• deploying, supporting and developing our staff effectively
• rewarding and celebrating pupils’ achievements
• monitoring and evaluating pupils’ progress and the quality of the outcomes they achieve.
Brayon Junior School offers a number of free extra-curricular activities throughout the school year. In addition, Brayton Junior School hosts extra-curricular activities delivered by external providers.
Furthermore, Brayton Junior School is committed to offering pupils access to out-of-school clubs which have achieved Clubmark status. Details of these clubs are regularly included on our school newsletter and on our website.
