Within our school we provide a happy, secure and caring environment where every person is respected and valued. We encourage children to behave appropriately by setting high expectations of behaviour.
We achieve this by implementing the following strategies to create and sustain positive behaviour from everyone, thus ensuring the right conditions for learning.
We aim to:
- create a caring respectful community developing pupils who are self motivated
- ensure that all children know our rules and what behaviour we expect in various situations
- encourage the children to appreciate and make the right choices
- use positive strategies to develop responsibility, respect, independence and co-operation
- use rewards and consequences consistently to reinforce agreed behaviour
- teach children constructive ways of dealing with negative emotions and of resolving disputes
- prepare children to take increasing responsibility for their own learning
We want all children to understand and to develop shared rules and expectations of behaviour to maintain a happy, calm and successful school. We therefore annually review our whole school rules with staff and children and these are reinforced through assembly, circle time, SEAL activities, the School Council and PSHCE sessions.
Our rules for a happy school are:
In our school we………
Value and care for everyone.
Listen carefully and do as we are asked.
Take care of our school environment, inside and outside.
Are positive and welcoming.
